I acquired this knife about 20 years ago. I imagine it is quite old. I've had it for nearly 20 years.

Could yall give me an idea of it's manufacture date and @ value? Or lead me to a place i could look it up.

schrade cut co lobster with tip bolsters, that stamp dates 1917-1946, as for value I'm going to guess around $20ish, but I'm really not framiliar with the price of these lobsters

$20 minimum, especially for anything "Cut Co" in decent shape.

Ebay has been getting some crazy prices lately for Schrades that I would normally pass by because of excessive blade wear, chips, scratches, etc.

It's a feeding frenzy right now, and people are buying like they're all gone or something.

This is a No. 8656T Sunfish Lobster with Shackle and Emblem, Mother of Pearl handle, 3 inches long, three blades, nickle silver lined, milled edges, nickle silver tips according to the Schrade Cutlery catalog circa 1926-28. I cannot identify that particular shielding, but there is a note that a list of organization or lodge emblems is available.

It is a manicure blade. Two file strips and a cuticle tool.

The 1938 catalog shows the same pattern but with brass linings and Marine Pearl Pyralin (cell) handles as No. 8654MTSha. The earlier style is still available in the 1940 catalog, but no mention (1938-40) of special organization shielding.

wow. thanks for the info yall. i was kinda hoping it was worth more, oh well. maybe there will be a craze to buy lobster patterns and drive the price up. i doubt it though.

Unfortunately, there are quite a few pristine mint Cut Co's flooding the market right now. So while that is good in that people are scooping them up, and driving the prices up, it also takes away from the not-so-mint examples that are out there.

I tend to gravitate toward the not-so-mint, mainly because they are closer to my price range. :D

Lobsters in genuine MOP can go pretty high, but a few can be had for a good price. I have to bone up on this new camera and get set up to shoot with no flash, but picture 1 is my lobsters. Two are MOP and the other is a cracked ice. The other picture is the same one with its tidy little leather sheath. Two are Walden, one is a Cut CO. I haven't played with my camera enough to show it yet, but the real pearl on these are dazzling.

On yours Wildcat, I love those little tipped bolsters. I bid on one like that once and it went over the edge. I saw a Cattaraugus version of these go for nearly $100.00 and the Case versions are really off the scale. Make no mistake though these Schrade ones are very nice.

The one with the sheath I had to pay for, the other two were about $15.00 each from the same guy. All on Ebay.

The Tidewater is an 878, Lions Club (the CUT CO) has no number, the one with the sheath is an 877. It is a favorite. I've done a little nostril hair work with it.
