Yep, handle profile is the same as a reg Warden. Here's some badly-lit pics of mine just after I polished the spine. It was a user from day one, so the coating was already a little beat up, but it looks kinda cool with a nekkid spine.

They'll never tell the true amount on how many made...good many though, 27 were ordered by that one person;)

Which one did you order?

BTW-Greg, that polished spine is sweet:thumbup:

Greg,
I agree--that polished spine looks VERY nice. May I ask how you did that???

Thanks, and it was nothing fancy at all - just started with some 80 grit sandpaper layed out flat on a work table and started rubbing the spine back and forth over it. As long as you keep the blade fairly straight up and down, this way makes it pretty hard to screw up and gives you a nice, clean edge where the spine meets the sides. The 80 gr took the coating off really well, and from there I think I went to 120 gr, then 220, then 400, then 600, which was as fine as I had at the time.

The choil and other curved areas were the hardest part, but it wasn't that bad. I wrapped the sandpaper around a screwdriver to keep it squared up. Also, I tried not to spend too long in one place to avoid a possible flat spot. If I was doing it over (or it wasn't a user), I'd spend more time with the courser grits to make sure it was smooth. After it started getting more polished, you could see slight grind marks in it.

I'm sorry that i can't help you... I've never owned a Skelly Warden, AKA the Skeleton Game Warden, & also occasionally jokingly referred to as the BlackJaxx GW, whatever the heck that means... :foot::foot::foot:

...Now you know why they call me "Mr. 27", LOL. :o:D ...On mine, I went up to 1500 grit for the high-polished look on the spine.

ya mine is going to be a user (i will use all my busses at one time or another) so i am not try to make it perfect but to try to make it as good as i can.

will you ever sell any of the 27?

Since you're new here, and the search function is down for ya, I'll quickly skim over the story, LOL... An INFI legend that almost got me tarred & feathered... and booted.

It was a mistake on my part with these... I wanted a bunch, but funny thing is that I lurked here for about a month plus before posting... Research, doing my homework, so to speak... and there were so many posts about how HARD it was to score at the BCS... So when these went up, I was ready, and scored roughly 9 each of the times the Store re-opened (Read "dumped carts")... Too easy, it was... I figured that there must have been 100's for sale, LOL... Well, I don't know how many were available, but way less than I thought. The next day or so, there was a big thread started here with posts from a lot of angry regulars who, after 'Skunk had posted that someone (But he did not nark me outright... I still do appreciate that, 'Skunk!) had bought 27, were really PO'd thinking that the buyer was planning to sell them on the 'Bay for a higher price... I outed myself as the one who bought the 27, apologized, and swore that I would never sell these there... I'm still holding to my word on this. A bunch of HOGs that got shut out PM'd me, and I passed a bunch to them at same cost, I gave 3 away in contests, and sold a few on the Exchange... I have about a dozen left, maybe less. Needless to say... I'll never do THAT again! :o ...Lesson learned, LOL.

I actually wanted to give some to friends & family as X-mas presents, but after asking them in an offhand fashion if they would have any use for one, all said, "probably not", LOL I got them something else & kept these!

...And that's the story of the 27 Skelly's.

Jaxx, you need new friends and family. who in their right mind would say they would not use a GW. Especially one as handy as a skelly. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. That is just crazy talk!

Oh well, I guess there is no accounting for taste.

That would be a horrible thing to give as a present. Why not just give them alcoholism or a healthy gambling addictions; any thing but this. ;)

I'm sure Jaxx's family has good taste. They just didn't want a knife;)
