Buck's Custom shop was in existence from 1981-93 at the El Cajon plant. For the first 6 mos. the knives produced were stamped Buck/USA and satin finished. After 6 mos. the
knives produced were stamped Buck/ Custom/ U.S.A. and were mirror polished. (your knife) . It should have been given a number somewhere on it that will give other information. This knife not being in your possession, the number may not be found. Your knife could have been produced in late 81-91 in very low numbers. A good find. DM

Only ground on one side? Could it be a letter opener? They used to do such things, right.

I think I could find room in this display for that nice dagger:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Whatever Skyler offered, I'll go 5 Bucks higher and throw in a trout dinner:D:D:D

Is there a serial # anywhere on the Knife, Or makers Initials?

I want to thank everyone for their help and offers. I appreciate the info David..I am woefully ignorant of Buck knives even though I live abut 5 miles from the Post Falls, Idaho plant. You are correct DeSotoSky .... the dagger is not mine..yet....It is not even a dagger....it is a letter opener as Mt_Pokt suggested... If at some point I do acquire it...it is unlikely that it will be for sale....and no, I am not going to put anyone in touch with the owner...at least not until I have a chance to make my own deal. The letter opener is held by 2 people so as you can imagine it is moving along slowly. I have been collecting Pre 2004 Schrades for several years and have recently branched out to other USA made knives. The beauty of MOP has sparked my interest and this one would be a gem in any collection. I have received a few pictures of some other Buck Custom Shop knives and if they become available I will certainly pass that info along.

Wow Dr,

Those are all fantastic Buck knives. I love the bottom 903 Bowie it would look fantastic with some of it's family at my house;).

It doesn't appear that the sellers...there are 2 people involved in the ownership of the knives...are going to agree to let them go. If the situation changes I'll post an update here.
