Hi friends,

I just bought a Buck-Strider B890-SPX-0.

The blade says: strider buck (with logo:wings and sword), bos(I guess it`s heat treated by paul bos),USA and additionally SB5.

WHAT means "SB5" ??

Hope,you can help me!

Thanks,
Chris

To my knowledge it's made with 420HC steel and is Bos heat treated. Don't know about the SB5 marking. Sorry about that but congrats on your new Buck anyway.

I found this in the archives. I believe that the SB stands for Strider Buck and the number is the type of knife. That would make your 890 the SB.5 I think but with a different blade design?? I'm sure no SB expert, so if I'm wrong, I apologize.

880 = SB.1
881 = SB.2
890 = SB.3
882/887/889 = SB.4

Thanks to Badhammer and Plumberdv for the informations!

Btw:the blade is a spearpoint blade with partially serrations and black coating/oxidation.
