I just purchased two custom fixed blade knives and would
appreciate any information you can give on these makers.

1.) L. Bailey Mt. Perry, OH. I do know he passed away on March 2, 2011
and that he was vice president of the Custom Knife Collectors Association.

2.) McCarty, I don’t think this is Zolan McCarty because the blade stamp is different.
I don’t have any information on him, I think he might be from Indiana,

I don’t have any pictures at this time. Thanks for your help.

I really miss Larry.
Do you have a knife made by him?
He was a custom knife collector icon, an expert Hunting Knife Designer, master of the wood spalding process and most importantly an outstanding human being.

Thank you all for the replies.
The blade stamp on mine is just McCARTY stamped on the tang on one side on the other it has 1-18.
Yes i believe this knife was made by Larry Bailey, it has an oval shaped engraving on the blade.
L. Bailey Mt. Perry OH.

I will post pictures later this week. (If i can.)
Now, I am going to watch Ohio State and Indiana.
Thanks again for the help.

Please do post a photo as I would love to see it.

Here's some photos of Larry.

Here's one of the two cases Larry would set-up at several knife shows around the country every year to promote custom knives. He also successfully put on the 'Ohio Knife Show' for many years:

And here's Larry at the very first CKCA Banquet with legendary knifemaker John White (also deceased), Chuck Kerwin (center) and Jim Treacy (his back to the camera):

Thank you very much for the photos.
I believe the 'Ohio Knife Show' was the one held in Cambridge, Ohio, I have been there many times.
I may have even talked to Larry, I just don't remember. ( I am old.)
I think Blind Horse Knives puts the show on now.
Thanks again for the information.
