With the blades in the shape they are, you are right in the money. Pretty bone though, it may be worth getting re-bladed to carry, but still will not have much monetary value.

Interesting bone on the "Strawberry" Case. It does not look like red bone in your pic...it looks like strawberry bone. Very interesting!!

Robeson used Strawberry bone from around 1948-1960 and coincidentally Robeson was run by Emmerson Case ( one of the Case brothers ) starting in the 1940's. Your knife is dated to around 1940-1964....I wonder

Simple Man those were my thoughts on these. When I asked what the best offer was the lady said everything is half price so I couldn't resist. The smaller one has 6208 1/2 on it from what I can make of it. Everything I have seen shows a half whittler with one blade at each end maybe I'm missing something.
stich2442 i did check those sights I'm a little confused about the smaller one. Thanks.
Thanks for the help.

The smaller one looks like #24 pattern (barehead/regular jack). Just think...that now almost smooth bone was once jigged. Someone got their money's worth from that one.

Gevonovich you are right about the color it is more of a strawberry. I thought that maybe since the scales are worn down that the color has just worn off. Very interesting concept about the Robeson company. It does make one wonder.
Morrow just imagine the stories that knife could tell.
What about new blades or should it just be left alone and used?

can case even reblade two like this, alot of patterns have gone away or perhaps changed? or are you thinking a tinkerer approach? the problem being youd have to luck into two of the same patterns as you got here, then it probably wouldnt be worth the cost. I had an old butter and molasses Schrade walden (grandads) that i asked around about blades, would have to find a donor knife then mangle it for the blades, ended up deciding against it
sharpen what ya can and carry if you can, enjoy what they have left in them
best of luck
Gene
PS that red bone is awesome

Na, Tinkerer territory definitely, someone that can put relatively period correct blades in. I'd leave them like they are before sending them to Case.
