Hi all,

I don’t know if this is the right place to post. I’m looking for some knife handle inspiration and pictures.
I’m thinking of either two tone micarta (or micarta and G10 e.g brown and green) or stabilised wood with burlap pattern. Something nature inspired :)

It’s for a small Nessmuk (19 cm) which will be used for camping, hiking, canoeing and fishing.

Any suggestions or pictures? Also any thoughts on stabilised wood? I’d it heavy? Is it grippy or can be made grippy? They always look so smooth and I love a grippy handle.

Any inspiration, ideas or fotos of your knives.

Go for micarta if going for a user, but find more texture to keep in the hand. Canvas micarta with what has been called mountain texture. Now, a good hard wood is more traditional and can also be shaped to give more grip.

I concur with the unpolished canvas micarta recommendation. Grooving it with files or Dremel type tool can add an even more secure grip.

For wood with burlap'ish figure, a few options are:
- Lacewood
- Leopardwood
- Shedua

Snakewood can be very stunning in both figuring and price. 😉
