Need knife/movie info?

We have a customer asking this question, and I thought somebody may know or have the movie and do me a favor! Thanks for looking

The question is.....

Do you know the all in black knife from the movie "Mission impossible Part 1" with Tom Cruise? I don´t know it´s a fixed blade, a folder or out of the front. May be you can give me a positive answer.

I know this has been brought up many times and I don't think there was ever an answer. Did you try a search? If I remember correctly most settled on just a prop knife, nothing special.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

That knife never existed in the real world -- only as a bitmap in a computer. The studio found it more convenient to fake the scene with computer graphics than to find a knifethrower who could make the knife stick in the desk, and whoever did the work found it more convenient to create his own image than to copy a real knife.

Hollywood is doing more and more of that -- eventually we're going to see entire movies created on the computer with no actors or props involved at all.

There was another knife used in the movie "Mission Impossible" and you see Jean Reno handling it several times. Anyone know what that knife was?
