can someone direct me to a shop competent enough to sharpen my ar? i never got the hang of the sharpening thing and would like to have a shop to do it. thanks.

As far as I know, House of Blades is it. You might go there, but if you do, make VERY sure you get the owners wife, a very nice oriental lady, to do the deed. She or maybe their son, are the ONLY persons there that I'd trust, and not a lot...

A long time ago, I bought a SOG there. As you might know, if you buy a knife there, you get free lifetime knife sharpening. I let their guy do it. He, using a belt sander, ground a good part of the thumblug away. A friend of mine, let them sharpen his Tanto blade. They botched it big time. BEWARE!

Check out my post to Mick regarding the optimum sharpening angle for ARs. I use either an Edge Pro Apex &/or a Spiderco Sharpmaker. I'd highly recommend the Edge Pro. It's almost fool proof. I'd be glad to help you sharpen your AR the first time.

BTW, that's not really me in my new avatar. That's just how I'll feel until I finally get my very own AR...

I live in Arlington. Nice to know we will have a Strider group around here. You will enjoy your folders. My AR and GB are my favorite folders. :D

First, Ichabod Poser get's his AR. Then tom poe, who lives less than 10 miles from me, lets me know his is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Then you, living less than 15 miles from me in Arlington, post those #&#@* pictures of you AR & GB. The horror! The pain!

I can't even order my AR till the 26th! My poor little (large plain) Sebenza feels like it's shrinking.

Feel free to come over to Arlington and have a look at the folders. If you haven't played with one they are cool. I have two more on order. :D

First Lynn, the new avatar, ROTFLMAO. I did think it was you, thanks for the correction.

Trust me, the AR is worth the wait. Of course, I'm stalking my house and my office looking for jobs that need cutting. I'm even going to switch to vegetable lube instead of a Tuff-Cloth just in case we are attacked by food in the kitchen.

I'm in our library right now answering this thread. I cannot play with the AR here. Oy.

i got my ar today! could it be any bigger or heavier! sorry little, didn't mean to stir the pot. well maybe a little! he he no pun intended.

little, zach and myself-we live in dfw, we should get together sometime.

tom poe, consider the pot stirred!

"little, zach and myself-we live in dfw, we should get together sometime." Sounds good...

"girly man with no AR" ROTFLMFAO You guys are too cruel... Poor Little.

Wait what am I thinking with an avatar like that he might deserve cruel and unusual punishment.... I am sending for my GB on Tuesday.hehehehe
