I'm looking to buy 2 new ATVs . Im not a mechanic, so I'm not good at tinkering with engines. Want something low maintenance, $5,000 each maybe go a little higher if worth it.

I have been looking at Polaris, Kawasaki, Honda, and others. From the 250cc to 800.
Looking to buy in about 4 weeks. Il be using it just for fun, trail riding in woods, maybe on the beach.

If anyone has knowledge in this are please make some suggestions

Thanks

I just sold a 650 Honda and a 400 Yamaha...........Now I have a 700cc Artic Cat and a 300cc. Kawasaki..........Conclusion::You don't need any thing over 4-500cc....That would give you plenty of power....For quality I would go for a 450 Honda 4x4................It has full auto and 4 wheel drive on the move if needed..............I ride mine daily and take longer trips 2 times each year..We run the strip mines in eastern Ky.........Living on a farm they are also a tool.....Plus the grandkids love them...................carl................

Yamaha and Polaris both have good reps in my area.
Arctic cat also makes a good machine, but are scary expensive to have work done.

I would go with a Honda for a new rider. Easy to maintain and control. Kawasaki and Polaris both gave me issues with brand new bikes, Can-Am is great for power but expensive. Yamaha is a good midway point imo.

I made my decision, Polaris 500 ho, I put some money down on it to hold it till September , got it for a great price, new,
$5,000

I am in complete agreement with you, but you won't get the Honda with all that for 5K. The Rancher decked out with auto and 4WD will be more like 8-9K. You can get a basic 2WD for around 5k and for what you are describing it would be great.

I have 2 Polaris 700 and they have been good. They do need some basic maintenance occasionally like fluid changes. I had to replace the starter on one and the batteries don't last forever. I think you will be happy with your purchase.

My apologies after I posted I was beginning to think I may have posted in the wrong area, thank you for moving.
I just got back from looking at atv, I'm locked in on a Polaris 500, awd, automatic, great suspension, my wife wants something different, probably a Honda 500 or 420, and this will be in the 6,000 range or so. And my son since he is 15 and a big boy, can only ride a 90cc atv, state law says you have to 16 or older for atv over 90cc. He's to big for that. he's getting a Honda dirt bike I think it's a 230cc. I'll go back to the store to finalize everything, thanks for your help.

The Honda 230cc model CRF-L is really old school and while easy to work on, will generally disappoint once you learn the basics.

The Kawasaki KLX-250S and Yamaha WR-250 are a significantly better choices for a street legal "dirt bike".

My sister has the Honda Rancher ATV and it has been a wonderful quad.
