Need Kydex Sheath for HHFSH

Newbie needs a little help here. I'm now the proud owner of a HHFSH and I need a kydex sheath. Lots of reputable makers will fabricate one for me, but no one seems to have the pattern in stock. In other words, I need to send the blade to the sheath maker. Ain't happenin. So, Busse experts, what other currently popular Busse knife is so similar to the HHFSH that the HHFSH could fit, perhaps with a little manipulation of the kydex by me and my heat gun or by the sheath maker? I though perhaps the NMSFNO as it looks very similar and is nearly identical in size, but I hear that won't work. Thanks for your help. I hope.

As a Sheath maker, you will need to send the actual knife in to have it made, nothing is close.
Especially for kydex, it is very exact.
the NMSFNO is not close at all for sheath making.

With that all said another thing to consider, the HHFSH could vary a little and if the sheath maker did have the HHFSH in house it still would be a gamble with diff in scales and small other variances.

Why so amendment about not sending it in ?

Nothing against sheath makers, but shipping the blade back and forth with insurance costs almost as much as the sheath. And, as I am more than a little eccentric, there are some things I like to keep close to me - mostly my motorcycle and my shooting, backpacking, kayaking and knife gear. Also my cat - a huge Maine Coon.

Sounds like your only option is to find a sheath maker who has a HHFSH.

The problem is that many knives are now called HHFSH, but they are not the same as the original run of 400 sabre ground HHFSH sold by the Busse Company Store. Since then, any FSH that is ~0.27" thick has been called a HHFSH, whether sabre or flat ground. And even if you had a real HHFSH, there were 200 with standard scales and 200 with magnum scales, which matters very much to a Kydex bender.

Your best option, if you won't send it out, might be to use a Spec Ops sheath and alter the plastic liner to fit. There are threads that cover that.

You might find someone local to make you one on the NC Custom Knifemakers Guild Forum or learn to roll your own

All good ideas, or you can invest in material, tools and give it a try :)

Well I recently acquired a Custom Shop HHFSH (Saber Grind) with Black/Tan Hand Shaped Magnum handles -- what resinguy said is spot on -- the handle dimensions can make all the difference in finding a perfect fit Kydex Sheath. My recommendation is to post a thread specifying the exact configuration of your HHFSH -- hopefully a Kydex sheath maker has a near exact same configuration (color is irrelevant). If so you're set. If not -- ask yourself if you're willing to go through the totally understandable hassle of shipping your knife to an unknown person -- who will make your knife sheath combo PERFECT. I say it's worth it for one of the best knives ever made (yes I'm biased).

You could also post a WTB ad with a pic of the knife. Someone on here may have a sheath they would let go that will fit your knife.

For example, my friend has a Mashed Cat sheath for a thin NMFBM. When I ordered my NMFBM I'd planned to buy his sheath then found out my knife is too thick.
