I've started trying to add lanyards to my knife collection but have been having a bit of trouble. Mainly, securing the end of the lanyard. My knots don't work so hot. Is there any type of metal fastener that I can use?

abiggs,
I don't know of any metal fasteners. I would imagine that most would make the knot permanent. I guess it's up to you, but I wouldn't want a permanent knot on a lanyard...not that I can think of anyway.

Have you considered a hangman's noose where the loop between the knife and noose can be enlarged by sliding the lanyard?

If you platt a Lanyard like a kids scooby with Paracord you can just apply heat and melt the end and that secures it.

I just made a tutorial for one of the lanyards I've made. Hopefully it's not too hard to follow. Here's the link: Paracord Lanyard Project

There are other ideas to try on my regular blog page.

I tried to change my email last year and can't access my old screename, Stormdrane, so if anyone's PM'd me, I can't get to 'em. I didn't try to change it to Hotmail or Verizon, because I know it says those don't work, and I got no response when I emailed for help, so I just made another screename.

I'm not currently making any to sell, there are plenty of others that make some nice lanyards if you're looking to buy. Try mercop, kcardwell, JSmith, Eric Isaccson, and ghostrider to name a few for some nice ones. :)

My biggest addiction now is Cobra wrapping carry handles on bags. I need a 12 step program.

Where can you buy the paracord to make the lanyards? I know how to tie them, but I can't find decent rope.

The confirmation email Bladeforums sent you got caught in an overactive spam filter. Look in your junk folder. If it's been emptied since then post in Bladeforums Service & Support and Spark will have the system send you another one. Don't try to email for help; go to Bladeforums Service & Support and post.
