Hello all. I've always liked tinkering and making things and have decided to make a couple of knives for 2 close friends for Christmas gifts. They are both wanting to get into hunting and want to get on a lease with me so I thought a good hunting knife was in order.

I purchased 3 Dexter Russell Green River Works high carbon hunter blade blanks and the Corby pins I purchased are too large. What options do I have to increase the diameter of these wholesale on the hardened blanks?

Carbide bits. Depending on the diameter of the holes you can use a carbide burr with a Dremel tool or Foredom. You can use a carbide tipped glass/tile cutting bit or carbide tipped masonry bit but I think the shape of the glass/tile bit will work better. Chuck it up in the drill press and for heaven's sake clamp down the knife blank. Do not try to hold it with your hands while drilling.
