anyone know where to find and how to remove and install? or maybe modifying the existing studs? thanks

I removed the stud on mine.Cut down one stud just short of hitting the blade, twist off with pliers.

One option I can think of is to cut an angle into the studs. The Kershaw Blur thumbstuds are like this and I really like the way that works.

Yeah, Speedsafe thumbstuds are kind of hit and miss as far as how easy it is to open. The Blur works really well but it's also a stud-only knife. Some times it becomes really hard to do. Good luck, post pictures, but also realize that if something goes wrong while doing this, warranty may not be able to help you out.

howdy, turns out on my cryo 2 the studs are screwed on. Haha but while filing them down I made the rookie mistake of holding the stud in my hand, of course the dremel kicked it out of my hand and I lost it in the front yard:rolleyes: Actually it was a good thing, So Im going to cut down a drill bit shank -insert and try jb weld. This will give me the extra room my thumbs longed for.
