Need "man-purse" recommendations...

Greetings all, I had an unfortunate accident this morning that has me open to the idea of a "man-purse" now. I took a bad fall and landed square on my wallet in my back pocket, i.e. right over my sciatic nerve. Now that I am in constant agony, it has finally occured to me that back pocket wallet carry is no longer a good idea. Right rear pocket is out because that is my total hip replacement side. Front pockets are usually full of keys, contact case, lip goo, handkerchief, and knives.
I guess I need a man-purse to put this crap into. Here's what I require...
Nothing girly looking, not even remotely. I am right handed. I would prefer something that is man-purse snatch resistant... shoulder strap +/- belt attachment. Must have enough room for my current stuff, plus maybe the added benefit to carry a water bottle or additional stuff if necessary, yet I don't want to carry anything to large and bulky. I do have a Filson briefcase, but do not care to tote anything that large everywhere.
thank you in advance for your recommendations and opinions,
Mongo

I've got a Maxpedition Versipack Fatboy, and it sounds like it will do everything you need, with the possible exception of carrying a water bottle in addition to the normal load. Of course, you can add a Roly-Poly water bottle carrier to it if you want, and then you'll be set. :)

I've got it in Khaki...

I too have a Maxpedition Fatboy and a Proteus (more of a waist pack). The stuff is well made and highly functional. Somewhat costy, but they should last a long time.

If you are concerned about the girly look, don't be. Any of the Maxpedition stuff can also be had in camo or black.

best regards

What do y'all think about the Maxpedition H-1 waistpack? Does anybody have one? Will it hold my wallet, keys, contact case, lip goo and knives? My wife seems to like this one the best. How much dork factor is there with this on your belt? She thought the versipack fatboy was overkill.

This might work better for you. I'm sorry I had to. :D

Pink its the color of passion. Go with the pink one.

Depends on where im takin this purse, but there are so many hand and shoulder bags to choose from i just go crazy....

I dont like anything that hugs me too tight when wearing a shoulder pack. Lots of man made materials that break in nice enough and last a long time. I usually pass on camos for stepin out duffles. kakis and olive etc. Unless im in the woods~

They tend to make mensisis stuff tight (especially when your big boned like me)

I wear a vest all day at work and wouldnt mind a vest thats alittle nicer lookin and aint full of pockets but has atleast 4 or 5 nice accessable ones. Good for fall and cooler temps.

I have an Everest "man bag" that I keep in the truck as a BOB. Smaller than a knapsack, bigger than a waist pack. It has a shouldler strap, zipping big pocket, smaller pockets for pens, cell phone, folding knives etc. It also has another pocket that the top folds over, with with big clip closures to hold in place.

I've never really carried it around, but imagine it would be fine.

Well your description of what you need matches the Maxpedition Fatboy to a T. I have one and carry all my shat in it everyday, plenty of room for all your stuff.

I'm using Firefox and can see it...

What version? I have 1.0.6.

If you have 1.0.6, the next question would be, what plugins and extensions do you have.

Now you are asking questions I am too computer stoopid to answer....all I knw is that It was created in April 05...so...when my buddy fixed my computer he installed it foe me...I use computers every day but don't really know much...Duh. :D

Any way sorry for getting off the topic...check out the Maxpedition stuff...you should be able to find something that will suit your needs...that civilian stuff looks interesting, but too metro-sexual maybe...or too sporty...doesn't look as rugged as the Maxpedition stuff.
