Need more Dodo help -- sharp tip??

I just handled a Dodo at the local knife store. The price wasn't bad either.

Anyway, the only one they had at the store had a tip that was not really pointy. Without a magnifier, I could not tell whether it was ground like that or the tip was broken. I'm not going to buy it if it's got a bad tip. (I want to round it off or break it myself  :p .) All of the other Spydercos I have came with pointy points!

So, are the tips on your Dodos accute and pointy, or sort of rounded?

Thanks a trillion!

Both of my Dodos (SE and PE) had very sharp pointy tips. I ended up minorly blunting both of them pretty quickly (doing semi-stupid things with them :footinmou ) After that, I took a medium stone to the tips and gave them a little more obtuse angle to put more steel behind the tip - so far they've both held up very well after the mod. You won't regret it if you get one; either blade version. I thought they were pretty strange and ugly looking at first, but they're actually really great, fun little blades. :D

Should be pointy as heck from my experience with 2 Dodo's. Buy it and send it to me. I will use it for a year and let you know if it is pointy enough :)

Thanks for the replies. Shoot, even the picture on the Spyderco website clearly shows a pointy tip.

Yep. Pointy tip. I haven't babied mine, and it's still pretty sharp, but I don't pry with it either. Maybe it jumped out of somebody's hand and did a nose dive into the floor. :(
