Just wanted to thank a couple Gracious HOGs here on BF (you know who you are) for parting with a couple knives that I would consider my Grails (well two of them anyway) and show off my newly acquired blades.

I now know why there is all this fuss over Snakeskin micarta....it looks amazing in person. And that asymmetric edge on the BAIII is sharp as heck. The old school black micarta on the HHFSH is no slouch either, looks great too.

Now, I bought both of these blades with the full intent to use them but then having them in hand makes me wonder if I will. One thing is for certain though....I need more of them.

Two of the greatest designs ever for sure. I own neither one unfortunately. Iconic and coveted. Congrats.

Those asymetric edges on coated Busses are awesome, I love them. I say coated because I have one thatsstripped and while the asymetric edge still looks great, the coating really accentuates it.

Nice blades! But you just have to use them!! Use and abuse them. Then you will really know what all the fuss is about.

Good advice. These are meant to be used and I’m sure I will.

I now have two Busse asymmetric edge knives (BAIII and NOE). They are both super sharp when cutting arm hair and paper. Neither have been put to real use...yet. I’m a natural southpaw (but semi-ambidextrous) and I’ve read the stock asymmetric edge isn’t great for lefties. I guess I’ll have to put it to the test to find out.
And yes the coating really punctuates the edge difference.

Those are really quite a pair - you have to at least swing that SH...there is something about that specific design - it is unbelievable how awesome those are at destroying stuff. I know those BAIII's don't come cheap, neither!

I love that era....a bit before my time as a Busse owner, although that is the era of knives that got me hooked in initial purchases, and I still love that era and older the best.

I am SO glad I bought a snakeskin SH user just like that but standard scales (I know right) - it was already stripped/used, and that knife will last for freaking ever!

Those are some really sweet scores !!!! Congrats !!!!
The snakeskin looks super cool , I can understand being hesitant to use it :-) The HHFSH is classic , closest I have is the NMFSH :-) Love the MFSH so much it’s kept me from buying a lot of different knives in the size range :-)
Maybe if you were to consider others to use, possibly NMFSH and SOB ?
