I am looking for a new EDC while my Buck/Strider 882 SBT is being repaired. I have $260 to spend and no more. Any suggestions? Folders or small fixed blades I am open to suggestions. I want the best bang for my buck. Thanks guys. :D

Well, it is WAY under your price range, but how about a nice little Spyderco Calypso Jr? You can still get one of the gray handled PE ones direct from them for just under $35 including shipping.

Being a Buck fan, I'm sure plenty of folks are thinking about the Buck Mayo TNT which would be great but not as high on the bang-for-the-buck scale IMHO.

And as was previously said, if you can find a used (large regular would be my preference) sebbie in your price range definitely grab it.

Give Josh at Pioneer Valley Knife and Tool and email or call him. He has the EKI CQC7b plain edge tanto for 92 bucks plus shipping. This is the hard chrome model made in 2000. These are new in box. I have two of them and for all the bitching I have done about EKI's in the past these things are excellant for lockup and QC. Then go back through the posts on a post, it was like Dec. 19th when I ordered my first from a Victornox shop I belive in Danbury Ct. They are closing out there MOD line old school. Picked up a Tempest black blade pe for 90 bucks plus shipping. Then get a spyderco Endura with the funds left over. You won't have to buy and edc again for well a good long while. So you will have 3 knives that retail for over 350 bucks for slighlty more than half. keepem sharp

For a fixed blade I carry a Bark River Micro, for such a small blade its got a big attitude. An still have $ to pick up a good folder also, can't never have anough knives. Folders you got your choice there, Al Mar, BM, CRK. Some good deals in trade forums.

Yeah...used Sebenza is definitely the best choice. Small or large depending on what size you like for EDC. I'm a fan of the small myself. You should easily be able to find one in that price range with just a little patience.

Benchmade 630 Skirmish if you like big folders. It's easier to carry than I thought it would be, but still have to go back to my Emerson CQC-7 when I wear some of my dress pants. I have big hands and the Skirmish fits my hands well.

Sebenza huh? Ok, I'll look for one. I also like the BM 630, and the Rat Trap by Swamp Rat, Manix by Spyderco, I'd love to have a Strider. SO, many choices I am going to faint. Thanks guys for the info. :D

The most for your money is the Benchmade 551 Griptilian.

Don't judge the knife by the cost alone.
This knife is a real working folder.

Good luck,
Allen.

Yes, i forgot about the Ritter. Good Choice. I have a BM Grippie and love it but I only carry it when I go out hiking or when I work around the yard. I guess really I am looking for cool factor. I also want a hard use knife, my 882sbt is a hard use folder I've done things with it I wouldn't do with other productions and it has never failed. i only sent it back to have the liner lock reconditioned. I also was interested in a Microtech Amphibian, but don't know much about them.

Used Sebbie first if no luck the Ritter Grip is very impressive once you get over the plastic handles.

Sebbie if you can find it, or a Benchmade 710HS (M2 blade steel). These are two of my favorite EDCs, the BM takes an absolutely wicked edge and holds it forever. Haven't had the Sebbie long enough yet to put an exceptional edge on it yet, but I know it has that potential.

I've got to vote for the Spydie Manix. I just love this knife! As a lineman for Verizon I use my Manix very hard everyday and it just seems to love being abused.

how bout the crkt m16 it works great as a beater
or the kershaw leek, it is really fun to play with

What about a camillus cuda Dominator? Can be had for about $130-140...S30V, ti frame lock, assisted opening with a flipper...Just a thought cause I know I want one...
