Ji all,
I found this Case XX about 6 months ago while metal detecting. I have had it soaking in lightweight oil til today. It looks to be a Case Trapper 2 blade.
However, the Case logo on the tang is one I can't identify, plus it appears to be double stamped with no USA underneith. Other side has 6254 which id's as cowbone. Can anyone please tell me if this Case is unusuall, possibly an error, worth anything? I have only "cleaned" it to the point you see. I'm a coin collector and we don't clean coins either! The knife opens and the blades snap into place. Small crack and chip on reverse sidr of logo and nick on spey blade.
Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks

Case 6254 is a trapper the 6 doesn't always mean bone it can be
:6 - Bone
Procured from Brazil, the shin bone of the Zebu cattle are the main source of bone suitable for Case bone handle materials.

Jigged Synthetic
Plastic molded covers with a jigged pattern.

Jigged Laminate
Laminated wood with a jigged pattern; such as used on the Folding Hunter.

Hi Stich,
I think I figured it out. See if this photo comes thru. This is off the tang.

All I'm seeing is a placeholder for the pic.

When viewing the url for the pic in the editor (using 'Reply with Quote'), I'm noticing the linked url is from a secure site ('https'; likely will require login to view it), and also it needs to end with the image's filename and image format extension, like .jpg or .png, etc. That's missing in the linked url for your pic.
