Like that I can actually print out on my computer. I don't need anything to load to a GPS. I've googled some sites appear better than others. I am willing to pay a small fee if it is worth it.

Any suggestions??

Should have mentioned.... I need topos. I use a free service now, digital-topos.com or something like that, but I was hoping there would be a service were I could sign in and save various maps to my account and then print them as I need them.

You might try the USGS. A recent issue of Backpacker mentioned using their downloadable maps to print out your own. I haven't tried it yet but it might be worth a shot.

Edited to add- I just downloaded a topo map of my area for free in pdf format and it seemed to work fairly well. This is a great resource.

I use the USGS maps and put them on a USB drive, take them over to Staples where they will print them in full color on paper upt to 3' by 4' not as good as the ones you order from USGS but great when you don't want or can't wait for shipping.

I use Delorme maps. It depends on the level of detail you are looking for. I especially like the state map CD which I can use, edit, anotate, and print in what ever size you want but generally 11x17" is about as large as you get with semi-normal color graphics printers. The state CDs are actual USGS topo maps and they run about $100 per state. I think California and Texas are two sets due to size. Buy once for your state (PA I assume) and you have them for as long as you need them. I have them for a couple states that I frequent.
