Hey guys,

I'm looking at buying a Steel Heart and a Natural Outlaw. My dilema is this. Should I buy the Steel Heart E and Natural Outlaw before production ends, or wait and buy the Zero Tolerance NO and SH that is going to be released (when?). For those who own/USE/have used these, which set would you pick, if you had to pick one? These knives will be users, not safe queens.....Money is a factor, or I would buy both....

Thanks!:D

It depends on what you want to use them for. If you are going to use them for heavy chopping and such, I'd get the standard E handles. The ZT knives are 3/16 thick and a LOT lighter, not nearly as good for chopping.

Personally, If I were to buy both, I would buy the Steelheart E for chopping chores and the Natural Outlaw ZT for finer work.

Definitely get the standard 1/4" SH-e for your beater.

The Natural Outlaw would be great in either thickness, but since it isn't quite the chopper that the SH is the thinner stock might be nice from a weight standpoint (since the extra heft isn't really needed).
If your looking for a thinner blade (ZT thickness) in a smaller package, the Badger III would make an awesome companion to the beefier SH in my opinion:cool:

R. Markus pretty much said what I was going to say. The essence, if you will, of a Busse combat grade fixed blade is embodied int he Steel Heart. Get one of them in 1/4" stock and start tough loving that bad boy and chop the daylights out of whatever needs chopping. Then, for the lighter, more delicate work, a ZT/NO would be great although I am partial to the 3/16"ths Satin Jack. Keep in mind that I carry the NO/E with me frequently but still feel as though the Steel Heart is it!

Whichever way you go, you will not go wrong. Let us know what you decide and ... "Happy Hunting."

Hey Wilco...

I say Grab What you can,,When you can...

Theres a bunch of us out here, kicking ourselves every day that we didn't grab those Mean Streets and Lean Mean Streets while we had the chance....

If it was me I'd grab the NO CG first...

My Steelheart is the least used of all my Busses..If I'm grabbing a big blade,,its the Mistress first All the time...
For the field when I don't want such a big blade its eith the Natural Outlaw or the Badger...

However any way you look at it,, you can't go wrong with Any of them..

Jerry mentioned these ZT in combat grade. With this configuration take the Steel Heard. I have the regular SH, and it is a hell of a user. I hit the .... out of this blade every time i can. And i like it more every time.
Wait for this blades, you will be amazed.
When you can´t wait any longer, take whatever you want. You can only choose right:p

Thanks for all of reponses, I welcome more. I guess I will be waiting for the ZT, but Jerry, for how long? :)

I agree with some of the other guys. Get the regular Steel Heart E for your beater and the CG ZT NO for those quieter, simple moments.:)

The Steel Heart is awesome and is the Busse knife of knives. But if you want a chopper get the Battle Mistress. I'm sorry guys I know you all love those dang Steel Hearts but the BM kicks much rear. I have never met anything Big Mama couldn't hack through. Perfect combo in any series I believe would be a Battle Mistress for chaos and the Badger Attack for chores. And a Good folder if Jerry would throw us a bone. For now I use a Police Recruit instead of a folder. I never knew you could sharpen a railroad spike.;)

Get a SH - E now. I can't tell you how many times I decided to wait, not just with Busse knives, and then it was gone forever. Strike while the iron's hot, and you can bet the new mods will be around for a while, so you can save up for them later.

I'm still amazed at the edge I can put on my SH E with almost no effort in sharpening, even after some extensive wood chopping.

Just get it. If you keep it in decent shape, and later you decide you want a newer model, one of us (probably me) will more than likely buy it from you anyway. Get one and DON'T use it, until you see the new models, you can probably sell it for a profit anyway.

The Steel Heart/E Combat Grade will serve you well as a user. It strikes a balance between a chopper and a useful controllable "cutting' knife even better than the NO/E though I find myself carrying the NO/E more often mainly because of a more compact and portable size.
