I need honest opinion on this sheath. The knife is a Buck Strider collaboration. Keep sheath or build a different one with the same shape as the blade? Brown or Black?
This sheath did not take long to build. Just feels a little plain.

You do such nice work, I think you should make another sheath that is, one, shaped more like the knife and second has some embellishment. Preston

I like it. You could add to it if that's your style but it looks pretty doggone good to me and fits the knife well.

It looks great Mike, as do all of your sheaths.

If I were designing a sheath for a knife without a guard, I would prefer stitching along both the edge and spine making a tighter, more positive stopping point for the handle. Without a guard, I would be concerned that the leather may fatigue and soften over time and you might be able to push the knife deeper into the sheath than intended.

If I were having you make a sheath for that knife for me, it would be a right handed cross draw that would consume all but about half of the handle, with no cover or clasp. Something very simple and primitive...

I think it is an attractive sheath. The color goes well with the handle. Black would not match as well. If you feel it is to plain, how about some tooling? Would not take too long to restitch it.

I think I will start over and follow blade shape. Also fit the blade around the handle like MT mentioned. Anybody have one of these knives? I'll send ithe sheath if you do. Thanks for the words. Maybe we'll hear some more opinions.

It may not be your thing or not fitting for the knife but I've always liked/wanted a drop down sheath. I have love handles and think one would avoid the feeling of getting in the way. Its easier than going to the gym as well...:)

The flat bottom, rather than pointed, looks different to me. I'm not used to seeing that, but that's okay. Some people like their boots pointy at the toes and some like them flat. I'm sure there is plenty of room at the bottom for the tip of the blade. It looks sturdy and well made and fitted for the knife. Nice job!:thumbup:

I don't want to change direction, but have you ever made a sheath like this? I have one of these and I think the design would look cool for your knife. I don't know if there is a name for this style. The bottom of the knife is held secure, then the sheath is open in the front except for the snap at the top which unsnaps forward. The knife then releases forward (instead of up) and come out pretty quickly. It may not be best for securing the knife while hiking in the backwoods, but it's a pretty cool design. I just thought I would throw it out there for this or future projects.

I like it. I have had issue where to pointy of sheath the sheath folds over and the blade cuts through. The partial flat looks good and may add enough rigidity to the sheath that it will not fold. Also it avoids the total flat bottom. Good job.

I will build one with the top open on the 124. Pretty cool
