I've got a mint Swamp Rat Custom Shop M6 in Sage with Serrations, Swept Back Swedge, and Hand Smoothed Tan Magnum Micarta handles up for trade, and was originally looking for a standard Muddy M6 or something similar in the Swamp Rat or Busse family, as I exclusively own only Busse and Swanp Rat blades. However, I've been offered a Fehrman Last Chance in Black, plus the Kydex Sheath, which seems like a fair deal, but I don't know anything about Fehrman's blades. Below are the specs. Give me your opinions, please.

Blade Size : *5.5" x 1.68" x .25"

Overall Length : *11"

Steel : *CPM-3V

Hardness : *57-59 Rc

Overall Weight: 15 oz w/o sheath

Handle : *Linen Micarta, Cushioned

Standard Cost : *$ 240 *(Black Crinkle Finish)

Personally I would do it, but it really comes down to what the M6 is worth to you...

I would run a trade ad in the exchange and look for exactly what you want.
Someone will trade you A combat grade RaT for a hot custom shop:thumbup:

I do have a trade post in the exchange. This was just an early offer, and I was trying to get a feel for comparisons between a Swamp Rat and a Fehrman. I do agree that I'll probably stick to Swamp Rats or Busse's for The trade.

I have the last chance, it really is a sweet blade and fits my hands perfectly. I also love the M6 but for me it would come down to whether or not you want a user or not, if you want a knife to use go for it, sounds like the M6 would end up being a queen imho

I have not owned any of those blades before but based I think I'd go along with the trade if I were you. If memory serves me, Ferhman has pretty much the same warranty as Busse. The last chance looks like a really good user blade like siverbullets said above ^^^.

I have the satin Last Chance and think it is the best Fehrman he makes. Comfy and great edge retention. I would prefer it over an M6 model, but I must confess that I have never really warmed up to the 'M' style handle much. Doesn't feel as good to me.

I say go for it. :)

I owned a Last Chance before I ever owned a Busse and was REALLY impressed by the knife. The ergos on it were fantastic and Fehrman does indeed have a great warranty. If you're gonna use this knife, I'd go for it.
