Need Opinions

Feel like disagreeing with you just because it's fun IG, but can't on this one.

Something just really seems off with that guard. I dont' know if ti's the guard would always be wrong, or it doesn't quite go with that blade/handle, but yeah, it doesn't sit right iwth me.

Course, the important thing is what customer thinks. So next guy who says they want it, ask if they're willing to buy it and back up their claim. :D
 
The square doesn't fit the rustic look. Round it out and put some curve to the top and you'll have a helluva sexy blade.

OH yeah, and since I didn't make it clear first time, so now Michael made me look bad, realy like the handle, blade and damascus. Just something isn't right. Sure you two are right, and it's the guard, jsut can't visualize without it right now. Long day.

SO yeah, fix it already. :)
 
I agree with everyone else. Round off that 90 into a nice curve, and just make a "S" guard out of it. I really like the rest of it, though. What is the handle made of?
 
I saw this knife last weekend before this point. It is a real beauty. I still like the twist idea Gary had. I still like it even with the angle but, it would look better without it.
 
Fantastic looking blade and handle. The guard makes you have a look at the whole knife it draws you in. It is just not what I am used to. I think it would have looked better if you had not sujested it was not right because I looked for a reason to think it was wrong. It is just different. The only thing is from the photo it looks like the handle is a couple of mm or 1/8 high on the top edge and bottom edge of the blade. Again it looks great but I am just trying to see what you are sugesting is wrong with a great looking knife.
 
I called my 23 year old son in here to look at the photo of the knife, and without telling him why, I asked him what he thought of the knife, particularly the guard. His reply was a contemplative "interesting"....... Then I asked him if he liked it or not, and he thought about it a few more seconds and said "yeah, I guess so........it's different".
I suppose that would be my reaction too.
 
All new designs will look "Interesting" at first...and good design is an evolution of an idea into a real thing.

but, well, ...yes, right now it does look like you dropped it.
 
it's kind of kinkie IG :D just like... no I won't sat it. :D
an s/gaurd and a little Longer on bottom pointed back
would be good..
