Im going to get a mike snody knife with mike norris stainless damascus the model is the el palenque and im going to get desert iron wood scales on it the damascus pattern im going to get is the one in the botten of the picture but I cant decide what would look better darker iron wood like thats on the resistor knives or the lighter iron wood like thats on the damascus explorer extream knife the website is www.mikesnody.com well thank you bye.

this depends upon what you are looking for. Desert Ironwood will darken with age. If it begins dark and there is some nice figure the material will get darker, even in some cases to the point of obscuring the figure of the wood. The lighter material may not get that chocolat brown but will darken but usually the figure will be evident. Both have their beauty and either would be a great choice. Good luck with you choice.

It will probably depend on what Mike has available. I prefer ironwood burl, and I like it to have a combination of the lighter and darker tones.
