HELP!!!

I was able to post larger photos on this forum just like most of the other photos posted by everyone else up until a few weeks ago. Now I can only post the small pictures that you have to click on to see a larger view.

I probably messed something up on my computer, but I don't have a clue.

I still try to post the same way as always by linking to Photobucket, but it doesn't work anymore. All I get is small pictures that you have to click on to view.

Okay...I just tried to upload some sample pictures from Photobucket. I clicked above on the "insert image" icon on top of the thread page I'm trying to upload to. I copied and pasted the "direct link" icon on the Photobucket picture I wanted to upload to the "From URL" page from Blade Forums and I got an "error. This GIF image has the incorrect file extension" window and I couldn't proceed.

Sooooo, I went to the "insert image from computer" page and tried to upload the picture directly from my computer and I got a "Blade Forums 2 JPG Upload of file failed" window and again I couldn't proceed.

Okay, now I don't even seem able to post the smaller "click on" pictures. It's frustrating!!

Any ideas on how can I fix this?? It really interrupts my joy of the SPS and some of the other threads I like to post in.

on photobucket put your cursor on the picture and when the box below opens click on the choice that says "img" whatever. It will say copied. then just paste that in the dialogue box you are posting

Idunno.......here's one I just copied and pasted with the "IMG Code" space that opens below the picture.

Try the pixel size issue if you haven't. You cannot post a picture over 800 pixels on the largest side. I usually use 675 for the biggest size so the photo fits the top and bottom of my oblong screen. Most programs have you size the photo when you go to save it for the "web". Somewhere along the line of your photo processing for the forums it will ask or 'let' you determine the size. This is when you would reduces a full sized camera photo of say 2500 pixels on one side, down to less than 800 to put on the forum. The process usually automatically fixes the small side to the correct proportion for the large side you reduce. Confused now.....

I just tried posting a picture from photobucket for this post. I went to photobucket and pulled up the picture I wanted to upload. I clicked on "Image Code" and it copied.

I came back here and clicked on the "insert image" icon above and pasted the IMG code from photobucket. I got an "error; Invalid File" window that popped up.

I am really at a loss as what to try. :(

No....not confused. This makes sense, but now I have to figure out how to reduce the pixels on photos I already have saved.

I'm hoping this is the key. :)

I tried from photobucket and here are the results;

I reduced the size of the photo to 675px × 506px (scaled to 620px × 464px)

I copied the "direct link" and tried loading it on this thread through the "insert image" icon above and I got a window that said "error: This GIF image has the incorrect file extension".

Then I tried with the three remaining image codes on photobucket...HTML Code, IMG Code and I even tried Email & IM Code. I got a new message when I copied and pasted here on the "insert image" icon. All three times I got an "error: Invalid file" window that popped up.

At least I made progress with resizing my photos. That was actually easy.

So now I'm going to leave photobucket alone and go directly to a photo stored on my computer and try resizing it, then try posting it in my next reply to this thread.....but first I need to take a break from this computer for a while.

Try this. Open photobucket to your album. Put your curser over the image you want click the box to select picture. Go to the bottom of page to choose action a drop down menu will appear. Click generate link codes. select full size . Then come here right click your mouse and paste. This should work

OMG....you are a genius!! This is the photo I have been playing with trying to upload because it showed a computer screen shot of my post in the SPS with the small click on pictures that were all I could post.

Now I have to go back to photobucket and write all this down while it's fresh in my mind.

Thank you everyone for all the help....and a HUGE thank you to THE_LONGBOW!!!! :)
