NEED Queen City Shield

I bought a QUEEN CITY special edition stag handled lockback off of ebay awhile back and it was missing the shield on it. Does anyone know where I could get a shield that would be appropriate for this knife?

It is a "125th Anniversary World's First Oil Well 1859 - 1984" QUEEN CITY knife. I have attached some pictures below. I would like to get the right shield for it. Does anyone have any ideas? The spot for the shield is about 3/8" in diameter. Any information about this knife would be appreciated.

Thanks, Roger

+1 to calling Queen. They may not be able to provide a replacement themselves, but they at least might be able to point you to someone who might.

Might also be worth calling few dealers too (call dealers who carry/specialize in Queen/Queen City knives). I seem to recall seeing a post recently, from someone looking to replace the shield on another production folder. He apparently got it from a knife shop. And again, even if they don't have it themselves, they might be able to find a source for you. Dealers specializing in knifemaking & repair might have some good leads.

I think the shield on that one is specific to the commemorative edition. I'm seeing a couple of expired auction listings on the web for the same item. Available pics don't give a real good look, but I think the medallion shows an image of an oil derrick, or something like that. Assuming it's not a standard Queen City shield, might be a tough one to replace (authentically, anyway).

(fyi, I'm searching "queen city" +"worlds first oil well" knife, on Google)

Call Jennie Moore at Queen. She may be able to help.

As an alternative, I once had a knife where the shield fell out of the handle and I couldn't find a good replacement so I sanded, buffed, and polished the handle until the depression for the shield blended into the handle. Once I was done, it looked like the knife hadn't come with a shield at all.

If you do find a replacement shield, use a good epoxy glue to hold the shield in the handle. This is an epoxy that I use and it is very effective.

To all that replied, THANKS.

I have contacted Queen and spoken with Jennie. I emailed her pictures and measurements and she is checking for me. Thanks for all the other good info Modoc ED. I'll also use some of that epoxy when I find a replacement shield. All of the other information is also appreciated. I'm impressed by the response, especially since I haven't been a member that long. I listed this request on another forum at the same time and I don't think I got any responses. This forum is a special group of folks.

Thanks again for the help. If I can help any of y'all, let me know.
