need rat help. trying to order rc5 or rc6

ok is there a different number than what's listed on the website. i am trying to order a couple knives from them but would like to talk to someone first based on what i am trying to order. i left a msg a while ago and still no call back. are they closed on friday??

i wanted to pre order the junglas machete i believe it is but there is no price and i want a sheath.

also wanted to order a rat pack kit. with the rc5 i believe or the rc6 but had some questions. on it


i will mainly be using the 5 or 6 as a all around camp knife. alot of and battoning, carving, chopping. i have heard great things about both.

thanks for any help. especially with contacting them.
 
Try shooting them an email. I've never tried to call them but I have had great luck with emails
 
For what you're saying, I'd go with the RC-6.

As for questions, we have a wealth of knowledge on this forum and we'd be happy to help. As for contacting RAT, emails are very quickly answered in most cases as mentioned. It's kind of tough to be around the phone all the time in some cases.

The Lite Machete won't stop looking at me!

what about the Junglas did you need to know, there are quite a few threads on it, and it does come with a nice kydex sheath (so the pictures show). Pretty sure ESEE isn't taking pre-orders, they are shipping them to their dealers first. One of their dealers has them on pre-order with a price think it was like 170?

it says on there site they are taking pre orders on it and $170 thats definitely not what i had heard...i heard it was a good bit less but thats all rumors i suppose so who knows. this is why i want to talk to them lol. either way thanks for the responses so far.

The Knife Connection has it on PO for 170.

If it goes much lower the RC 5 will be more expensive than it :o

They might have changed their policy, but they said before they don't compete with their dealers, so they don't sell knives from their site. I think they are accepting pre-orders from their dealers.
 
The OPs first post is somewhat unclear to me but I am assuming that he is trying to order knives directly from the ESEE/RAT web site. I would suggest ordering through one of the many excellent dealers listed on the ESEE/RAT web site. I think that the prices would be slightly lower and some offer free shipping and most all are just great people to deal with as well. I would guess that Jeff and Mike might just offer the same advise. Am I missing something here?

While most of the products are available directly from RAT Cutlery Company, we do not try to compete with our dealers and distributors. Some dealers may be higher and some may be lower but we encourage the end-user to always buy from a dealer before buying directly from us. i thought you could only order the rat pack kit off esee website. and no dealers i looked at had any so that makes it hard to order. thats also what they said when they initially came out ... if this has changed i wasn't clear on it. i figured if i was going to order that already i could place the pre order for the junglas also, if i am wrong someone let me know

and i also wanted to know what was in stock as far as tan or black.

correct but not single knives...
anything a Dealer carries ESEE will not sale from site, ESEE comp. kit,basic,pack kit order from site ....KNives ESEE3-4-5-6 izula-junglas lite machete,arrow heads,hest etc can not be ordered from site due to competition with dealers....

Mike has been handling that I think. He'll probably be by this thread or email him at mike at ratcutlery dot com
 
lol yeah i know the common sense stuff never seems to work for me. so either way now things are kinda cleared up but i still need to know if they have the esee kits in tan and black. i guess i will have to wait for the machete. i guess i will go about emailing them since i haven't heard anything back. i am really wanting the tan but i knew it was initially not in stock and was back ordered. but color doesn't mean that much to me if i can get the item a month quicker and go out and play.
