need rule clarification

I'm a new Gold member. I posted a message on the knife-related category asking for advice on Ramon Pressburger knives. I wanted to know the ballpark value of them before I bid at an upcoming auction, and I wanted advice about durability of them, sharpening of BG42 steel, etc.

Someone posted a reply saying that asking about values was not allowed, but I can't find that in the rules. Could someone point out where that is? I love this website, and I don't want to unintentionally break any rules.

Can Gold members ask other members about general values of knives? After reading the rules, I was careful not to mention the name of the auction house (spamming rules) and I got permission of the auction house to use the pictures off their website (copyright rules). I did't see the "asking about values" section, and I would appreciate someone pointing it out to me. Thaks in advance.

As you are a gold member, you should be able to ask values....
But you must update your profile first to show that you are gold.

I just did a site search. You may also, by using the function at the top right of the forum.
There are only a couple threads with similar queries as yours. No real info about the maker or any values.

Thanks for the lightning quick reply!! I did a search, too, and could not find much, which is why I started a thread. I also updated my usergroup status. Thanks for pointing that out.
