I have a Tasman and i just got rid of my atlantic. I am looking for a salt with a little belly. For EDC, beach carry, and some fishing duties (I have dedicated fishing knives for most things). Which am I better of with in my pocket, the Dfly, the Salt 2, or the Pac Salt? I am getting serrated, and hopefully yellow. Just want some input because this is a tough decision for me and I am only going to get one. I thought it was the Atlantic, but for what i use it for, it was not the right knife for me, however the handle is awesome. I will say nothing opens annoying plastic blister packs or zip ties better than the Tasman :)

of those choices pacific salt, but cause i like a bigger blade as it can do all smaller blades can and more.

I voted for the Dragonfly for a few reasons. First, you have other dedicated fishing knives, which I take to mean for filleting, etc. Second, the Dragonfly 2 is fairly small and unobtrusive. I have no idea what you mean by "beach carry", but frankly, if I saw someone at the beach with a pocketknife clipped to their swimsuit, I'd have a great laugh knowing that I got to see GI Joe at the beach. BUT...the Dragonfly is small enough that it could be carried in the little inside pocket that many swimsuits have and it would not even be noticed. You won't be doing that with the other two.

None of your choices have much belly and there really isn't an alternative that does. Unless you just require a larger blade, I really think the Dragonfly 2 will do it for you.

so, at the beach i sometimes have to cut something. Sometimes it is small bait (because I left the boat knife strapped to the life jacket (I kayak) ) and i like to surf/jetty/bridge/etc. fish as well. sometimes it's opening something in the cooler. Sometimes its a stupid blister pack with a toy/beach thing. We live in Florida and near both coasts, so we go to the beach a lot. I agree there is not much belly, BUT the Atlantic salt had zero, which made some things (like cutting bait) challenging. My concern with the DFLY (although it's my main contender) is that there is not enough blade to cut through a small half frozen mullet or sardine. other than that it's perfect, but TBH, because i had an ARK for a bit, it's a real concern. My dedicated knife is filletting, chunking, sandwich cutting general boat things, yes. And that has me leaning toward the PAC salt or Salt because soemtimes its lunch prep uses are the major thing for the day at said beach, or on the boat if i am not fishing. Basically there will be more use for this while on the water and not fishing, than the opposite. My LC200N mule gets most of the heavy lifting when I am fishing, or the dexter russell small serrated for cutting frozen bait on the boat or kayak. This will be a EDC for other times and a easy carry fr when i am not bringing the full fishing gear set out.

FWIW the ARK is full belly, and a fantastic knife, it just doesnt fold. Spydie chef would be nice but its too $$ to bring to the beach and possibly lose.

I've been wearing my SpydieChef IWB since i got in in some beach shorts. It's been super hot here so my typical jeans or heavier pants are hung up and I'm facing 50% fewer pockets for my stuff.

The chef is super flat so it's perfect tucked in, grips really well and corrosion proof so having it right next to skin all day is no worry.

The fear of loosing it though; can't help with that.

The salt 2 has been my personal choice
As I really appreciate the Delica 4 it was kind of an evident choice

Pacific Salt
capable of larger and smaller jobs, while carrying like a small, lightweight and very thin knife

Will give plenty of edge, durable handle and tough construction, be prepared for anything, and still wear it flat and nice in the pocket, swimsuit or the boat

The DF2 is excellent but sometimes the edge is too short, and the handle not big and secure enough when around the water, moving or among waves, fish and sand

I voted Salt 2 as I'm not sure how comfortable you are with carrying a knife as large as the Pacific Salt. I think most people would agree that the Delica isi a good EDC size where some may feel the Endura is too big.

Right now I'm carrying a Salt 1 and really enjoying it but I've got a Pacific Salt on order because I do like a larger blade. :)

Salt 2. Delica sized, meaning it is just big enough, but not too big for pocket carry. My second choice would be the DF.

The pocket chain saw. Beast of a knife, but light as a feather!
Mine has been on work knife duty for a few months and I can tell you it will handle anything you can throw at it!
Extremely smooth, after break in, and a great flicker!
For ~ $80 it's a no brainer!

I have the salt 2 serrated. I wear it with cargo shorts and my bathing suit/board shorts and do not know its there. I would recommend the dragonfly for the beach. But if your doing food prep and want to get full use of the serrations get the salt 2. The dragonfly blade is too short to get the most out of cutting with the serrations IMHO. Also when on a boat The salt 2 doesnt have a stabby tip. You will drop a knife on a boat when fishing or resting it on the consile. I think a less pointy knife is best around the water, especially with all the bare skin...you also get a strong long titanium clip on the salt 2 over the dragonfly. Great for if your in the water or bouncing around a boat

Another vote for the Pacific Salt. Mine is a great knife, and I concur with your concern of cutting through a mullet with the Dragonfly. I have that one also, but use it more for trimming fishing knots and such. The Pac Salt is a workhorse. Last thing, I like the feel of the larger knife clipped to my suit when I'm in the water. I clip it inside the waistband and the larger clip gives me more confidence than the smaller Dragonfly clip.
