Need Sheath For Golden Spike

Michael
i could get one from Taylor for. 10.00. thaink it'd be anygood. My knife is a usa made goldens spike used. i guess Taylors would be sacrilege. Have any ideak what a good price for aused one is? Want to see if I made out alright

I think I read in a review the leather particles that Taylor uses is comparable to the quality of the knives. It might end up like parking your new pickup under a tarp.:D

The surplus Schrade sheaths on eBay are top grain cowhide, U.S. made. The Taylor sheaths I have examined are made from reconstituted leather (leather fiber and glue), not leather. You should be able to get the new Schrade sheath for $10-15, maybe less if you shop.

Does any one out there make a sheath for the golden spike at a fair price? By that I mean fair to the maker for their labor and affordable to the buyer.

Yes Camper. I still very much need one. I sure would appreciate it if you could see if you have one. Tried your e-mail address but couldn't get to go thru. Thanks.

Well I got my golens Spike today. It was in sad shape but after some brasso and flitz it looks like nes now. Can't complain for what I paid after seeing them as high as 75.00 or 8.00 dollars on ebay. Comparing the usa schrade to a chinese one I have The blade shape is just a little different on the usa and the spine is thicker. The chinese copy has a thicker handle.

just asking.. but does Brasso and flitz work?? what is Flitz, I knowabout brasso.
Thanks
Mike

Flitz is one of the best metal polishes out there I first heard of it used to clean fowling on stailess steel revolver cylinder end and breech faces. It has no abrasives but still works very well. Many people use it on their knife blades. WWW.midwayusa.com sells it fairly cheaply and if you goole flitz you can find their home page and buy. Some hardware stores sell it. Smokey Moutain Knife Works sells it(fairly close to where I live) but for some reason doesn't list it online. Great stuff.
