Shipped a good friend a new BAS with Sisco Quick-Draw sheath since he is going to Iraq soon. He notified me that he was told that the blade would be confiscated when he arrived in Iraq. Seems he was told our government doesn't want tos care anybody. Can the blade be shipped to him after he arrives in Iraq without causing problems? Are there better ways to do this? Thanks for the help.

Sarge should know, but he's been scarce here lately.

I need to know too, for a nephew - I've been considering a Newt Livesay 101st Airmobile knife ( his unit )instead. Or maybe a Livesay ( aka Wicked Knife Company ) "Company" knife, and yes, the CIA is the Company it's named for.

Still rather send an appropriate khuk if possible..

If they won't let him take it into the country, it will only cause more problems if you ship it there after the fact. At best it will just be confiscated, like my Ka-Bar was when I went to Korea. Best advice I can give you is to send him a Becker 7 or Crewman instead. Either of those would be my choice for a deployment, and they're unlikely to be confiscated. One of the little khuks, like a balance or a 12" AK or Sirupati, would be a good choice as well, but the possibility of confiscation still exists.

Remember a post awhile back about a guy using a 20" Sirupati to take out someone(enemy of course). Told by his CO not to let the media get a pix of it!!
