Need some advice

I need a smallish axe for splitting logs up to 8-inch in diameter into 2inch chunks for the meat smoker. I've had some cheapish handaxes that have had head separation so I'm looking for a good to excellent 12 to 24 inch handled axe for splitting wood. I would like to keep it under $60. What do you recommend?
