I picked this up a few years ago with the intention of adding it to my growing collection of kitchen knives, I've been lacking a giant roast slicer and $5 out of the basement of an antique store isn't much to miss for something that is at least a cool giant knife.

So far, I've ruled out Dexter, and Lamson. There are no markings on the blade. Besides its length as the distinguishing feature - it has a tapered tang, and the ... knuckle/finger/blade stop thing going from heel to bolster. If that has a technical term, please let me know.

I removed most of the existing surface stain and rust, though it needs a good high grit sanding still I think. Edge is shot, but can be remade if the most major issue of the knife can be taken care of - the last 1/4 or 1/5 of the blade is warped off to the left. Not something I can fix.

Few other minor defects, looks like someone put a little epoxy on the handles - possibly bad factory QC? It isn't the most well made knife by todays standards. BUT, it is comfortable to hold despite the large knuckle/finger/blade stop heel to bolster thing. Handle is a good size, and fits my hand well.

But I can't identify it, and I would like to fix it up and use it if possible.

Thanks in advance for any information.

wow, that looks exactly like it. I'll start researching in that. Same tapered tang, handle design, everything. Thanks.
