I have been looking at the BokerPlus Vox Rold Camp Knife. Some have it listed as Stainless Steel, others have it listed as D-2 Tool Steel. Which is it ? Is there more than one model avail with different steels ? Thanks for any help. :D

Boker usa catalog shows it as d2 steel. Boker website shows it as d2 tool steel. Since d2 is only about 1% short of chromium to be considered stainless I could see where it could be confused by website stores as a stainless steel. Its really close.

llcman and moosh, really? this is a boker forum, for folks who like boker knives. there is forums for if someone wants advice on kitchen knives, flat ware, and some outdoor/hunting knives by cutco but this isn't it.

that said, cutco is far from the best in anything...440a steel is a useable steel, i like and use it, and even boker uses it in their value /cheap brand magnum line, but let's get real.

Oh come on let's be frank, Cutco is overpriced crap that has annoying as hell reps peddling for them. If you want good cheap kitchen knives victorinox use pretty much the same steel without the hype and price tag.

My rold says d2 o the blade if I recall.
