Need some cleaning tips

One of my favorite 1 inch swiss army knives got covered in orange juice and now it's pretty sticky.

My knife is 1 in kength, one 1 inch blade, scissors, nail file, tweesers, and a toothpick. That's all of what it contains. It's really small, so to clean in those hard to get places is really hard to get.

If you know any cleaning tips it would be really handy.

Thanks,
Knife Junky

In the little manual Victorinox includes with their knives it says the blade(s) should be opened and closed a few times in warm water, then the SAK should be dried (as good as possible, use a blow dryer for instance) and then oiled (maybe with WD40).

You can wash with soap and water but after drench with WD40 which will displace the water (WD--Water displacement) (40--forumula forty) then use a quality CLP (CLP--cleaner lube protectant) like Break Free.

Soap and water and an old toothbrush should get it clean. Rinse in hot water and/or blow dry (don't melt the plastic though), and a little mineral oil on the pivots.

Be sure to get the dirt when the tools are both open and closed and work the tools under water to ensure that you get everything.

Open all of the tools, and run it through the dishwasher.

Afterwards, dry it out with a blow drier, and lube as above.

Works for me! :)
