Hey all. I could use some advice on how to go about fixing this issue. Where the intended blade edge and the guard meet up I was just a little off on my grinding and it has left a very small "shelf" of sorts. The phots make this look far, far larger than it actually is and I don't think I am steady enough on the 2/72 to fix this without messing something else up and making a worse issue. If you have ever run into this how did you fix it? Hand files was the only thing I could think of but even then its real close.........

Any and all feedback/help would be appreciated. (This is post heat treat BTW).

The plunge lines look really clean. I'd be tempted to leave it instead of risking further problems.
Or you could accentuate it with a radius sweeping it toward the tip of the guard as an S shaped design elementMarkup2.jpg

I'm not sure how you did it?
Were you tweaking your profile After doing your blade grinds?

If it bugs you, id file with diamond file for a slow work.....
But me, id blend it on the grinder, but I'm pretty good with it.

Sharpening choil.
Or use a hand sanding block, sand paper bent for the corner, piece of paper on the bottom so it doesn't scratch the bevel, and sand it until true.

I'd do this:

Your grinding is very nice BTW

Well I decided to risk it all and try to round out the top of the guard with a 320 belt. I put a few layers of duct tape on the blade edge to prevent any errors or slips. May need to do a sharpening choil also but it's better than it was. Thanks all for the help and suggestions.
