Someone came to me with this knife, but I can't find anything on it. A.G. Russell and the mark, Morseth 1990, is all I have to go by. Tried googling around but can't find anything at all. Anyone have any details?

Sorry for the cell phone picture.

Steve Morseth

After his death in 1967, Morseth's work was carried on by his grandson, Steve Morseth, who had been making knives since 1961 at the factory. The younger Morseth continued the business until December 1971, when he sold the equipment, supplies, and brand name "Morseth" to A. G. Russell of Springdale, Arkansas; Russell sold the majority of these as kits, for collectors and beginning knifemakers to assemble, themselves.[1] Steve Morseth relocated to Redmond, Washington and made knives marked "S. Morseth" until his death in 1995.

A.G. Russell was somewhat of a pioneer in specialty knife retailing and still has his store and online business. He also has knives manufactured specifically for his business. Since he owned the Morseth name he was continuing to have knives manufactured in his facility with the Morseth name. There are rumors that some of these knives were made by Bob Dozier working in A.G.'s store.

The original Harry Morseth was a pioneer in the custom knife business. One of the unique features of most of his knives is the use of Swedish laminated steel, similar to what some people call San Mai, others call composite.

Harry Morseth and Steve Morseth knives are highly collectible, A.G. Russell versions are less so, but they are certainly good user knives and I have always liked the styling, particularly the Bowie style that you have. I don't know why you didn't find much information in google. You should be able to do research on the big online auction site and get an idea of what the knives are selling for. You may even find older ones still listed for sale in the pre-owned section of A.G. Russell's website.
