Hey guys I hope someone can help me, I'm looking into buying my first GEC knife or northfield and tidioute. I would love to actually handle one so I can make sure I like the feel of it but I can't find a knife store around here. There used to be B&B knives on Winchester rd. in Lexington but they have either moved or gone out of business. My question is do any of you know of a store open I could go to or are they all gone now?

No GEC dealers in Kentucky that I know of. Closest GEC dealer appears to be Blue Creek Cutlery, about 22 miles from Maysville, Kentucky, in Ohio. Not sure that they have a storefront though. You can get the dealer info off the GEC website. Where in Kentucky are you located?

There is a great shop in Newport Ky., just across from Cincinnati.. His website showed some GEC knives. That doesn't mean he has them in stock.

I've e-mailed you his address and phone number (maybe twice, the I-net is acting up). You can check and see. Also, he has ordered knives for me to look at without me guaranteeing I'd buy them.

Thanks guys, Primble I live in Versailles it's a small town close to Lexington and Frankfort. davek14 thanks for the address I don't usually make it that far but I might have to make a trip, it's so sad that the brick and mortar stores are no more. Nothing is better than walking into a store filled with knives and getting to actually hold the knife you are thinking of buying.

The central Kentucky knife club has a show in Lexington in early may. There are always dealers there with g.e.c. knives.
see you there!

If you can hold out until May 1&2 there will be a knife show in Lexington at the Clarion Hotel. In the past there have been tables there with GEC knives.

Dpowers311 - we're talking about the same show, it's a good one! Maybe some Kentucky folks should get together for a meet and greet there.

Knife days in Wilmington ohio is in the middle of april. Not exactly close but well worth the drive.

Thanks clutchcarter and dpowers311 I can wait that long no problem at least then I could handle them and find out which one I like best

I lived in Maysville for about a year when I was a kid.

It would be nice to meet there.

The NKCA show used to be in Wilmington every year. Is this related/as good?

Lexington and Wilmington are both about 90 miles from me. Which would be the better show?

The show in Wilmington (April 16-18) is bigger and I think there would be more new knives there. Queen is the major sponsor of the show. The one in Lexington (May 1-2) is smaller, mostly club members and local dealers I believe, although Queen will be represented there as well, but there is still an almost overwhelming selection of knives to choose from.

Thanks much guy. I'm going to have to make that trek this year. It's been some years since I've been to a strictly knife show.

I would actually be after old knives moreso maybe though.

JoshBobbitt30.I can tell you one thing.
I speak from experience.
Save the money you would have spent on travel and spend it on more GECs knives.
End o' the day-if you don't like it you can sell it on and get most of your money back.
I live in Australia and have NEVER desired to rid myself of a GEC knife.None of which came into my grasp before paying and waiting up to a month for it to arrive.
I would like to be able to decide which knife show to go to. Maybe one day.:)
I'll bet my left one you won't be disappointed with the quality style and feel of GEC.

Apologies-I've got a couple from giveaways-still had to wait tho.
