Need some help IDing a MCUSTA

The box says MC-0011D but I am not sure it was mislabled or mispackaged. I"ve checked out some other sites and mine is sure different. First of all, the handle is a dark brown and black wood like substance with near vertical finger grooves. The scales are beveled both top and bottom. The blade is 3/4 damascus. And the MCUSTA/Seki-Japan is on the upper part of the blade rather than the lower. Any Ideas?
