Well im thinking of trying a hawk for my chopping needs and leave my big knife at home. Problem is I cant seem to locate any that are made in America and are affordable. Keep in mind im just trying a hawk out so I dont really want to spend much over 50 bucks for one, but if I cant find a usa made one ill just stick to my Becker. Any ideas?

Try h&b forge, great throwing hawks and camp axes hand made in the USA. Getting one or two won't break the bank.

Wold Creek Forge makes forged hawks in Kentucky, in fact the forum member goes by Kentucky. There are some other forum members that can make you a hawk as well. Is there any particular style you want, or steel, length of handle?

+1 on the Wolf Creek Forge hawks done by Kentucky and Lisa.

Howard

After looking at there website those are just about spot on what I had in mind. I would love a hawk that is very simliar to the cs trail hawk but made in the USA. They didnt list prices on there website does anyone know a range I can expect to pay for a Wolf Creek Forge?

Lisa's website is more of a gallary than it is a place to shop..You would have to email her with what you are looking for to get an idea about prices..Her email address is phllpwest@bellsouth.net

I 2nd, or 3rd or whatever on Kentucky. Their hawks are very nice. I had a rasp hawk made by them, my favorite yet. I also have one of 2hawks, also very nice, over twice $. Devin is a stand up guy,. His hawks to me are very refined. Just what you like I guess.
