Need some help, please! (with mandatory Becker content)

Not sure where to ask, but I figured I'd ask here where there are more familiar faces.

I have a mod project I want to do for someone, as a surprise. Basically, I will be taking a 28" Tramontina saber machete, knocking off the handles, trimming the handle area out and adding a two handed custom wood handle. I need to know two things...

1) Where to get handle pins. I know some have done this to their Beckers.
2) Where to get handle material.

Any help is appreciated greatly!

For some of the stabilized woods I have used, I took to the ol auction site, but shopping for wood takes a personal touch to find what you want, hardware is fairly standard.
