after 15 months of abuse, i have decided to strip my HR. it's my main hard use knife, but i think she deserves the love of a nice semi-dull scotchbrite finish.
it was pretty easy using spray can paint stripper to remove what was left of the green stuff.

the hard part is the edge of the handle scales. there is still visible "stuff" firmly attached at the front and back of the handle.
i tried scraping it with a dental pick while it still had stripper on it but it was not softened up like the rest.
i suspect the scales are leeching up the stripper preventing from having the full effect in this area.
anyone with tips, advice, techniques or drinking rituals that can aid me in getting this thing nice & clean?

You could remove the scales (drill them out) and put them back on later. That would probably make doing the scotchbrite thing a little easier as well rather than trying to work around the scales.

I was going to tell you the same thing but I wanted to be able to tell you where to get the rivets or fasteners for the slabs. I couldnt find them.

On the edge, or anyone for that matter, do you know where to get the style rivets busse uses and flaring tool?

Oh and by the way, don't hold the knife while drilling out the rivets! Use a vice! Im sure you knew that, just making sure.
