I am a big time Spyderco collector. But I know next to nothing about Emerson other than their great reputation.:jerkit:

A few weeks ago a friend of mine told me I had to buy a few Emerson knives he was going to sell me and get me into the Emerson loop. I trust this man like a brother and he has never done me wrong so I bought. When I received the knives and took a close look I was astounded with the quality in craftsmanship and overall functionality! :):):)

I went looking long and hard for a website that chronicled every Emerson out there but I had no luck. If such a website exists and someone can provide me the URL that would be greatly appreciated.

Can you Emersonians please help me understand what I bought?... including; numbers produced, type of blade steel used, other important or unique info and finally, present day realistic value.

These are the knives (I am taking the info off of the box label they are all in perfect brand new condition):
1) Emerson CQC-7 V SW Camo Handles
2) Emerson CQC-7B SF Tan Handles
3) Emerson CQC-7 V SF w/Tan Handles Serial #1xx (between 140 and 150)
4) Emerson CQC-7 V SFS w/Tan Handles Serial #1xx (between 140 and 150)

Thanks In Advance for Sharing Your Knowledge,
Warhawk ;)

Well, you didn't get a lot of variety but the CQC-7 pattern is iconic, a large part of his reputation and success. The 7V's are the latest incarnation, since the 7 had always been known as a chisel grind previously.

You are off to a good start! :)

If you like those, another highly regarded pattern which is distinctly different in character is the Commander.

The one with the camo handles might be the most limited one you have. I have only seen those produced in last year's Emerson Christmas run and there were not that many produced.

Not in a 7-V. Those are recent and a very small run.

Have they even made a 7 V with camo G-10? I must have missed that one!!!

I think it was 2 runs of 5 each. This is the pic that was on the Emerson site....

I just bought the tan handled 7V and that V grind with the camo handles is sweet. I've just recently become interested in the Emerson line and would have jumped all over that Digi camo one.

In fact, my Spyderco Para-Mili and Mili are both black bladed with the Digi-Camo handles.
