Well guys im trying to find a stainless fixed blade for my outdoor fun. Here are the specs I am looking for.

4-5 inch blade length
no choil
stainless steel
150-200 dollar price tag
drop point
USA made
easy to sharpen

So far the only one I have found to fit this is the Javalina from Entrek knives. Ray Ennis seems to be a master of 440C which is always good thing in my eyes when a maker knows how to get the most from the steel that they use. I am not really set on any certain steel but I do value ease of sharpening over edge holding. If you guys can think of any other knives that might fall into this catigory please by all means let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Bark River has at least one FB in S35VN in that blade range. IIRC, BHK is also doing a little with SS in some of their FBs. Buck has US made FBs in 420HC. A G Russell has several FBs that size in various SS listed on his web site but some of them are made outside the US. Prices on all of these should be in your stated range.

Check out the Chris Reeve Nyala. It's 3.75" of S35VN and tops your price range...exceeds it a little. But it is a quality SS drop point.

I also thought of others but they didn't fit in the price range.

Thanks guys I will check into these. I dont mind going just a hair above my budget but I was really hoping to find one in that range.

Check out the Bark River STS-3 or 5. 154CM and very nice. Also the Fox Pro Hunter, That's a good one.

The Fallkniven A1 is constructed of VG10 and has a 4.7 inch blade, also it sports a super sharp convex blade profile, and a nice grippy (maybe too grippy) kraton handle.

Fallkniven are not made in America which rules them out. I have read about Bark River having some HT issues and there edges chipping, is this still an issue?

That Benchmade while im sure its a fine blade but that handle does not look at all comfortable.

Not with the dozen or so that I've had. Never has been an issue with any of mine.

This is why I gave the earlier recommendation. You get the CRK quality and warranty, etc. for just a tad over your price range. I cannot attest to this being a great user.

I own this and many other knives. So many, that I have not used them all. I'm not opposed to, just haven't yet.

The Nyala meets many of your requirements...well closely...it's a little smaller and little more $. But worth a look.

Barkies are always great and they make nice drop point blade designs. You could also look at the Buck Vanguard Cabela's edition in S30V. It's a great design, comfortable in the hand, and the S30V is heat treated excellent by Buck. Made in the USA too. Also, Knives of Alaska makes a couple of nice drop points in D2. Their D2 is excellent as well.
