Need some help with my BM722

I just received a Benchmade Pardue designed model 722 Axis folder in a trade and I'm trying to get the blade centered in the handle since it almost makes contact with the side of the G-10 handle when closed. I've tried loosening and then tightening the pivot screw as much as it can go, but it does nothing. Anyone have any tips?

Maybe check with Benchmade before anything to see what they consider industry tolerance with regard to blade centering. This single peice of information could save you a hassle.

Then see if they can do anything about it for you. I would imagine they'd be accomodating.

Worst that could happen is for them to say, "it's within our mass produced variables concerning tolerances" or something like that, then live with this condition so long as it does not affect the useability of the blade.

In general, don't expect custom detailing on factory produced knives.

Oh Boink this is horse stuff!! :D

Having your blade in the center as opposed to touchin one side of the handle is not "Custom Detailing"!!

Send your knife to BM they'll fix it for ya! It should be dead smack in the center. It's probably missing a washer of the blade is badly bent either way they will fix it. I had 'em replace my whole blade once only cost 30 bucks, but your sounds like it's a warranty thing.

Sorry to hear about your knife though :(

Factory knives, as opposed to customs, always come with blunt edges. Don't expect a factory knife to be sharp.

;) :D

I've never seen a NIB Spyderco knife, CRKT knife, or Victorinox SAK that was dull.

This is just more "custom knives are better than production knives" disinformation.
