Hey there friends. My grandpa died last year and he left me a Western fixed blade. Western, from what i can tell is a company based out of Boulder Colorado. I have no idea on this one and wanted to see if any of you had any information to give. Thanks in advance guys. Pic below:

Sorry to hear about the loss of your grandfather. What a nice keepsake! All I got was a used up old Boker pen knife... (Truly, he left me more than that. But as far as knives go, well...)

Chin up!

Oh wow, looks like this one is from 1928-1931. Holy Moses! Thank you for your response ddml. Much appreciated brother.

It looks to me like you've got a good ID on that knife. I'll leave the thread here. Normally it would be moved to Bernard Levine's forum for ID info.

Might look to see if there's a number (model number) stamped into the brass guard on that one. Western did this with at least some of the older knives; I have one that looks an awful lot like yours, though mine's likely late '60s/early '70s vintage (and the model number escapes me, at the moment).

Looks like you've got a nice one there.
