Hello,

I'm new to all this so please bear with me.
Years ago (1984) I came across an old Randall.
At the time I did some research but didn't come up with much before I was side-tracked by
another project. The knife has been with me since, packed away sometimes
out and about others. I'm online now and it looks like a good time to start
finding out more about it. Is there anyone out there that can provide a little info.
on this old beauty?

Thanks for your help.

It's a Model #1-8 in poor condition, worth maybe $200 on a good day. What else did you want to know?

Thanks,

Any idea of the age? I'm also interested to know if this knife could be the right age
for the war (60's). If it's a serial number on the other side of the blade from the maker's
mark then it looks like Navy/Marines to me. I just got on a couple of sites to track
down this David A. Orcutt but there's a lot of them out there. Will check military#'s
next. I checked out the muster from the war and didn't see his name. If he made
it back then he could still be around. Could be an interesting story here, or maybe not.

Thanks again.

What is the handle material, it looks to be Micarta, but I can't make out the color...

Good. Now, the color of the Micarta is the important part...

It's brown. I'll try to add another image with a better view of the handle later.
I really appreciate your help.

If it's a true brown, assuming it's a seven spacer knife (at the guard), then it dates to the mid 1960's - if it's black Micarta (black Micarta comes in many colors, btw, only one of which is black), then it's a mid 1960's to early 1970's production (pre 1973)...

That's all I've got, hope it helped..
