Need some info on my Mad Dog ATAC Knife

I came into a Mad Dog ATAC knife recently and had a few questions. My knife is marked Mad Dog in what appears to be elector-penciled near the grip and has no serial number. It it in very good shape and appears CLOSE to new with the exception of some very small signs of use. Is this still one of the newer production knives or would this be older? Reason for asking is many people stated that the new knives all have serial numbers....true?

It's just an older ATAK. Some of the first production runs had serial numbers but usually only the first couple of knives to indicate that they were first of runs(#1, #2, #3, etc).
