Hi guys im wondering if the miyabi 5000FC-D series by zwilling are actually real Damascus steel and if so are they any good to add to my collection?

Zwilling makes all their Miyabi line in a factory they own in Seki Japan. They do not sell any surfaced etched only "fake" damascus.

Hi Patrick, I've also been eyeing a few Miyabi pieces. I've decided to get three of the Miyabi Hibana pieces. Mind sharing what you are thinking?

Not at all buddy my miyabi are second to none. I've got three myself and i would advise you to buy the miyabi 5000 MCD with the black ashwood handle. It says that it's made for mc66 but in actual fact it's made from zdp189 and is an outstanding micro carbide powered steel with a Rockwell hardness of 66 and unbelievable edge retention. It's got 132 layers of Damascus. Absolutely stunning knives. I've also got two of the miyabi 5000fcd witch are stunning also Damascus. Let me know what you think about your knives ill do a bit of research on them and then we can have a good chat about them.
